BJP got Rs 2,244 crore contributions in '23-24, Congress Rs 289 crore
BJP's fiscal 2022-23 income soared to ₹2360.8 crore, driven by electoral bonds and interest income, while Congress lagged at ₹171 crore. Insights on political party funding trends.

This was sevenfold higher than the Congress's accumulation during the same time. BJP's total donations were Rs 2120 crore in that fiscal year, with electoral bonds comprising 61 per cent.
Congress, alternatively, secured Rs 171 crore from electoral bonds, falling from Rs 236 crore in FY 2021-22. Both BJP and Congress are national parties. A state party, the Samajwadi Party, in the 2021-22 calender, earned Rs 3.2 crore by way of electoral bonds. It was not getting contributions from these bonds the next year.
Every year, the party submits an audited report to the Election Commission. In fiscal year 2021-22, they raised Rs 1775 crore altogether. For fiscal 2022-23, the BJP's income increased. It jumped to Rs 2360.8 crore from Rs 1917 crore the previous year.
TDP, another recognized state party, amassed Rs 34 crore via electoral bonds in 2022-23, a tenfold increase from the earlier fiscal. In the last fiscal year, the BJP also profited Rs 237 crore from interests, a rise from Rs 135 crore in 2021-22. BJP spent Rs 78.2 crore on aircraft and helicopter use as part of its 'election and general propaganda' expenditure, a decline from Rs 117.4 crore in 2021-22.
The party also delivered Rs 76.5 crore in financial support to candidates, dropping from Rs 146.4 crore in the prior fiscal. The party accounted for this assistance under the 'total payments' label.
Shah emphasized the significance of digital progress in the industry. He pointed out the present PACS are now digitally linked to 32 other projects thanks to government initiatives. However, he highlighted that tech can't do it all alone. "Cooperatives can't function without trained personnel, despite having digitized systems and various schemes at their disposal," Shah stated, advocating for societies to adopt the fresh training module. He shared the stats too, 11,695 PACS have enrolled under the new guidelines.
